the tank

So, this is what we woke up to on our porch the morning of the first frozen insemination attempt. Its crazy, and it looks just like a spaceship. All the stickers make it even more intense looking. Cooper was so afraid of it he nearly skipped his morning walk just to avoid walking around it. Very funny. He's going to have so much to get used to. The best part is that inside this 3 foot tall tank, is safely stored 1 vial about the size of half a crayon.
My favorite part of the whole experience was walking through the doctor's office carrying this tank between the 2 of us and watching the looks on people's faces in the hallways and the elevator. They must have assumed we were transporting a new heart for a transplant or something. It was fascinating to watch their expressions.

Coops and his new friend...

Cooper has been very excited to welcome his new kitty friend to the house. Audrey is the one-toothed, club-foot cat that now runs the house. Cooper spent the first couple days following her around trying to get a good sniff of who she is, and Audrey spent those days wandering the house and swatting or hissing at him every time he was in her way. He quickly learned that she is in charge, which, given his submissive nature, probably works best for both of them.

As you can see from the photo, they have progressed beyond simply tolerating each other and they now choose to share the same chair. The chair is the prime window real estate in the house for watching the happenings of the neighborhood, which I hear is very active during the day (now that Bev is working from home I get the inside scoop on what goes on while I'm at work). We're placing bets on how long before we catch them actually snuggled up together when we're not around.

Meals after the move-in...

Here's an example of one of the many reasons I'm glad that Bev moved in with me. Tonight's meal was homemade tomato sauce using our farm share tomatoes with whole wheat pasta and a side salad of organic farm veggies. Aren't we so healthy?! She also does yardwork and cleans. I think this is going work out wonderfully.

Notice the bright green in the background. Just one of many new colors to be seen in our freshly painted house.
